A new challenge!

Starting the process to learn about a composer, I like to collect, read, listen everything I can find about him / her. So, you can imagine that, speaking about a giant like Maestro Angelo Gilardino... that’s TITANIC! I already read many pieces (Studi di Virtuosità e di Trascendenza, Sonata n. 2, Sonata Mediterranea, Colloquio con Andrés Segovia ...), books and articles he wrote (I love his narrative, always very acute and inspiring), but his music catalog is really gigantic. So, a new “huge” challenge is starting and… I like it! 😃😃🙃

Starting a deep exploration of a composer’s work really does feel like a huge journey, especially with someone as influential as Gilardino. When I once had to study a composer’s catalog for a music appreciation course, I was surprised by how much reading and listening it required. Balancing that with other assignments had me looking into online class services just to keep up. Challenges like this can be demanding, but they are also incredibly rewarding for learning.
